Guests say

The Stables in Launceston offers a cosy and comfortable stay with stunning views and a warm welcome from hosts Andy and Diana. Guests appreciate the property's peaceful rural setting, ideal for exploring Dartmoor, Bodmin, and the Tamar Valley. While some find the decor dated, the charm and location are well-regarded, with the added benefit of being dog-friendly.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness; some guests found the house to be in need of a more thorough cleaning, with dirty pans and plates, while others did not comment on this aspect. Therefore, the score reflects a slightly above-average rating, acknowledging the concerns raised.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views and peaceful rural setting. It is well-situated for visiting local attractions and both the north and south coasts. However, access via narrow lanes may be challenging for some, which is considered in the score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a particularly cosy atmosphere on arrival and comfy beds. Some minor issues such as non-secure gardens for pets and steep access are noted, but overall comfort is rated positively.

Facilities are adequate with everything needed for a stay, and the addition of a smart TV is appreciated. However, some guests feel that the property and its furnishings are dated and in need of updates, which affects the score.

While the hosts are mentioned as being very welcoming and attentive, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches that could be guaranteed for future guests. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Cottage was so warm and cosy on arrival, and we loved the local pub recommendation. Stunning views from the cottage and we were so lucky with the weather we ate outside the 2 days we stayed. Thank youJacky, Chris, Bella, Noodle and Russell

A good location allowing relatively easy access to north and south Cornwall. The cottage had adequate facilities but was dated but it could be updated. In the owners absence, Vaughan was very helpful (and also some of the neighbours).

Very comfortable, very quiet but so far out in the sticks that access only via very narrow lanes/tracks. Excellent views, but being on the side of a hill required steep, slippery steps from car to front door. One other minor gripe is that although huge the garden is not secure for nosey dogs like ours! That said for younger people, with an old Land Rover and no dog it would be absolutely perfect!! Brilliant value for money.
