Head to the sheltered sands of Readymoney Cove (1 mile) to potter and go for a dip. Just above the cove is what remains of St Catherine’s castle, built by Henry VIII, with awesome views out to sea. Catch a ferry across the estuary to Bodinnick, where Daphne du Maurier’s house sits beside the slipway, and you can walk to along the coast path to Polruan (2.5 miles) or all the way to Polperro (6 miles).
