About this property

Historic Boscastle is one of the most beautiful villages on the coast of North Cornwall. Norwood is a charming Victorian holiday cottage a short walk from the natural harbour, South West Coast Path, Museum of Witchcraft, a village shop, cafes and two pubs. It is ideal for couples or friends as it has two ensuite bedrooms, good self-catering amenities, and off-street parking. There is lots to do, from surfing at Crackington Haven to looking for Merlin's ghost at Tintagel and exploring the beautiful gardens and country houses in the surrounding area.

Norwood, originally built for a Ship's Captain, is now a luxury self-catering holiday rental in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Boscastle. It sleeps four people in two lovely ensuite bedrooms and is popular with couples, friends, and families with children over five. Well-behaved pets are welcome and will enjoy sunning themselves on the terrace as you start summer days with the gentle treat of your first cup of tea in the garden and unwind with a glass of wine in the golden light of the evening. Boscastle Harbour and beach, the village shop, pubs, cafes, and the famous Museum of Witchcraft and Magic are all a short stroll from your door. Highly desirable for a holiday cottage in North Cornwall, there is off-street parking.

The north coast of Cornwall is utterly magical and nowhere more so than Boscastle. There is nothing bland or cliched about the scenery, which you can best appreciate from the South West Coast Path. Sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, world-famous surfing beaches and tiny coves once used by smugglers but now private and deserted are just a few of the features that make the landscape breathtaking in all seasons. Boscastle is delightfully unspoiled. Indeed, Norwood's Victorian heritage could almost be considered modern compared to some of its late medieval and early Tudor cottages. Boscastle's natural harbour provides a haven, and the Elizabethan quay is a lovely spot to watch the boats coming and going.

Walking is one of the best ways to enjoy the area around Boscastle. The walk along the coastal footpath to Tintagel (birthplace of King Arthur) is incredible, as is the long walk through the Valency Valley to St Juliots via Forra burry. Walk to Pentargon Waterfall or stay closer to home with a stroll to Penally Point and the blowhole known as the Devil's Bellows. Between Boscastle and Crackington Haven, High Cliff is the highest cliff on the Cornish coast, towering 732 feet above sea level. Inland, Bodmin Moor is also fantastic for walking and mountain biking. Roughtor and Brown Willy are easy to reach from Boscastle.

Norwood is wonderfully peaceful yet conveniently close to everything. Local attractions include the RAF Museum at Davidstow Airfield, the National Trust Old Post Office, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the Eden Project. Check out Trebarwith Sand, Port Isaac and Padstow, go surfing at Trebarwith Strand, marvel at the new bridge at Tintagel, cycle along the Camel Trail, and choose a different spot for a picnic or seafood lunch every day.
