About this property

One of Cornwall’s most fascinating walks, The Great Flat Lode Trail is an excellent 7.5 mile circular route that passes through the stunning countryside around Carn Brea in the west of the county. A fairly easy-going walk, the journey is one of beauty and history as it showcases not only the area's landscape but also a series of dramatic ruins that stand as a reminder of Redruth’s lucrative tin mining past from the late 19th Century.

Just a stone's throw away from the Great Flat Lode and King Edward Mine museum, Flat Lode Nook is positioned within the heart of the area so is ideal for lovers of the outdoors and those keen to delve into the past, being surrounded by not only the area’s fantastic scenery but also the sites that shaped this extraordinary part of Cornwall.

Beautifully furnished and decorated, this gorgeous annexe sleeps four guests with a lovely ground floor open plan living / kitchen / dining area opening out to its spacious private terrace. Here you’ll discover a sun-trap courtyard garden with outdoor furniture which is great for meals or drinks alfresco, as well as a wonderful 6-person hot tub which sits beneath a sunshade; a fantastic way to wind down after a day of exploring. Upstairs there are two stylish bedrooms both of which are bright and airy with comfortable beds. The master bedroom has sea views while the twin room has zip and link beds to provide versatility for families and couples.

Conveniently located near the A30, the property is just 15 minutes’ drive from Portreath & Hayle beaches so is perfect for guests who are looking for a Cornish escape that includes both coast and countryside, while a mere 5 minutes’ drive away is the village where a selection of local amenities such as food outlets and supermarkets can be found. Nearby in the Assay House at The King Edward Mine Museum, The Croust Hut Cafe serves delicious local produce from its menu that includes a Full Cornish Breakfast and decadent Bao Buns, so if you're in the mood for eating out, this is the place!

*Flat Lode Nook is super pet-friendly so if you're bringing your four-legged family members on holiday with you, the owners will provide food /water bowls and blankets, as well as towels and cloths by front and back doors to clean off muddy, wet paws.
