For many years, the Dolcoath copper-and-tin mine in Camborne was regarded as "the Queen of Cornish Mines" because it was Cornwall's deepest and most famous mining operation. This former mining site now houses Heartlands, a community space in Camborne where visitors may explore Cornwall's rich history while perusing art and craft exhibits, taking in the gardens, and even sharing a picnic or lunch at the Red River Café.
