However all the furniture was dusty - the kitchen waste bin was filthy - the fridge had food stains inside and on the door, the oven was not cleaned, the plug hole for shower downstairs was black with mould. My friend and I set too and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected everything before we brought our luggage in. I notified the owner that they may want to speak to the cleaners. - I was further amazed to see previous comments in the guest book relating to the same issues. Luckily we had taken our own linen and towels. Further to this the outside furniture was very dirty and the bench broken - there are two sofas in the lodge which were adequate for the 4 of us however as this is an 8 berth property I was surprised at the lack of extra chairs. The dining room similarly had 8 chairs although the table is a 6 seater and quite a squash for 8. On a positive note the lodge is in a nice location and views over the fields were delightful. Overall once we had cleaned the lodge we had an enjoyable stay.

Because both my friend and I have mobility issues we found the front steps a bit of a challenge. Otherwise apart from the reduced water pressure for the showers all was great. I would have given a higher rating if it wasn't for these two items.

There was plenty of space for the whole family and the beds and sofas were comfortable. We used the kitchen facilities for cooking breakfasts and on 2 occasions evening meals. Table and coffee table used for board games ( of which we took our own) and great to have free view TV. Lovely to have sliding door access to outside space and only a short walk to the Manor with great facilities We booked our sessions in the indoor pool and used both bar and restaurant more then once, where we found the staff to be really friendly and accommodating. We would definitely use Sykes again and Seanicview Lodge.
