Columbine Cottage in Bude, Cornwall, is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and excellent on-site facilities including a swimming pool and games room. The location is appreciated for its proximity to beaches and tranquillity. Some guests noted the decor is dated and the garden is not enclosed, which is a consideration for dog owners. Overall, the cottage offers a pleasant stay with many guests looking forward to returning.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with several guests specifically mentioning its cleanliness. One review mentioned a 'wet dog' smell, but this seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is generally praised for being close to Bude and beaches, offering tranquillity and good access to local attractions. However, some guests were dissatisfied with the garden not being enclosed.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with mentions of comfy beds and a home-like setting. There are some negative comments about dated decor and a less than satisfactory shower, which slightly affect the comfort score.

Facilities like the swimming pool and games room are highlights, though there are mixed reviews about the garden's enclosure and the availability of laundry facilities. Some confusion and dissatisfaction about additional charges and the quality of the shower were noted.

While the reviews reflect a generally positive experience, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

We have already booked next year as the cottage offers everything we need for a break away. Thank you.

Joan was very welcoming and we enjoyed the sweet treats that she had left us on arrival. The cottage is well equipped and we personally loved the décor and all the local pictures and paintings. The cottage was very clean and having the use of the swimming pool on site was great. Good location and was quiet during our stay. We will definitely be returning soon.

. last year was great, however although the cottage was clean and well stocked with equipment etc. it had an overwhelming smell of ‘wet dog’ when we arrived. I think it had been shut up for a couple of days. We do not have a dog so probably noticed it more. The febreze had run out so we purchased our own.
