Spend summer afternoons lazing on the town’s glorious beach which is popular with surfers and offers safe swimming in the wonderful Bude Sea Pool. You could even visit the secluded golf courses or try your hand at a spot of fishing. For a taste of history, explore Castle Bude, an early 19th century castle overlooking the river or soak up the views from Compass Point before you walk the famous South West Coast Path, which promises dramatic scenery. Further afield things to do include, charming Port Isaac, which doubles up at Port Wenn in Doc Martin, visit King Arthur's castle at Tintagel or take your surfboard to the beaches at Polzeath.
