About this property

2 Emma Place is an almost secret retreat, nuzzled tranquilly in the heart of the conservation area in Bodmin town. Beautifully styled and presented, with original period features combining charisma and all the home comforts, this semi-detached villa-vibe house is a real gem. Spacious accommodation greets you, with a separate sitting room boasting an open fire, ideal for those snuggle-in evenings during the cooler months, plus the attractive dining room creates social spaces for relaxation and food gatherings. The kitchen is smart for creative cookery. On the first floor, three bedrooms are sleep-inducing with good-looking decor and pretty, rural views over the town from the front bedrooms. Shower or bathe in the family bathroom after a ramble or beach escapade. Period slate flagstone floors, original tiled fireplaces and generous windows (the church bells sound amazing) add to the happy ambiance and let in a bounty of light throughout. The fully enclosed sun-spot front garden has pathways and lawns for children and dogs to play safely, with garden table and chairs for dining and barbecues under blue skies. There is a little courtyard with storage for cycles and surf gear. Shops, good restaurants and food inns are all reached within paces, with several supermarkets a few minutes’ drive away. Bodmin makes the perfect base for exploring Cornwall’s favourite destinations. Visit historic Bodmin Jail, the Steam Railway, or explore The Camel Trail on hired cycles. Llanhydrock House with majestic gardens is just two miles away. Beautiful beaches, country cafes, coastpath walks and the striking landscape of Bodmin Moor is within easy reach. Both north and south coasts beckon with hot-spot resorts of Padstow, Port Issac and Newquay, Fowey, Mevagissey and Charlestown. With so much choice, 2 Emma Place makes an appealing home stay for family, friends and couples seeking relaxation and recreation for coastal and country adventures.

Bodmin, with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow. Close by are the open spaces and dramatic Bodmin Moor while the exotic Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum (30 miles) and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow with its famous pubs and restaurants (16 miles) make for great days out. Also within easy reach and ideal for a fun-filled day out, guests can visit Lanhydrock House, the small town of Fowey and Charlestown with its Tall Ships. There is a good choice of country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.

It is a lovely house which provided us with a real home from home, superbly equipped and really well located. Owner was responsive to any questions we had and provided us with a lovely welcome pack. Would definitely visit again.

Emma’s Place is a little oasis in the heart of Cornwall and a very restful and relaxing place to stay. It is beautifully furnished and decorated, with a well equipped kitchen and secluded enclosed garden.

  • Ian

Very comfortable and well equipped. Only downside was the parking and only having one bathroom/toilet making it difficult with large family
