Our stay at The Roost was lovely. It was a beautiful countryside location and the accommodation was perfect, comfortable and provided everything you could need.Kate, the owner was friendly, showed us round the accommodation on arrival, explaining everything that we needed to know. And when we had a very brief power cut she came and informed us about it within minutes and kept us updated, though it wasn’t for long at all. Location was perfect and we were able to go out each day visiting different places including Tintagel castle, The Eden Project, Port Isaac - all within an hours drive or less. We would definitely recommend staying at The Roost!

A warm welcome from the owner Kate who then explained the 'whats what' and 'how to use things' etc. I.e. night lights, movement detector lights et al.A lovely split level conversion with solid floors and rugs. A good size WC and shower room, a good sized double bed room with lots of storage in drawers, shelves and hanging space. The living room has a large floor to roof and wide windows with wood sliding blinds where necessary, providing a lovely view of fields and over to the hills in the distance.Lots of wildlife in the form of birds as well as some sheep and cats wandering about.Entrance is through a narrow no through route which is gated when the horses or carrle are roaming the area.Overall a thoroughly quiet relaxing environment conducive to a chilled out exoerience.Approach usingvthe excellent direction given by Kate does save time and aviids crossing a busy, fast A30 later if you follow the sat nav.The local pub, The Old Inn and Restaurant is well worth a visit for good food and plenty of it. Local attraction such as Pencarrow house and Llanhydrock are wirth a visit. The coast inst far away nor are the many visitor attractions.

The cottage was spotless and had everything we could've wanted in a cottage; great views, beautiful walks, wildlife and was VERY dog friendly. We arrived to find dog bowls, treats, a dog towel and they even had a brand new squeaky cheeseburger dog toy. The big chalet style doors opened up to a beautiful field and view of the hills and moor, and perfectly pointed towards the sunset. We loved our stay and will definitely be back...highly recommend.
