About this property

Resting in the narrow streets of Bodmin is this stylish bungalow, Holston Lodge. With far reaching views and two bikes provided, Holston Lodge is a superb spot to explore this part of Cornwall, which is now widely regarded as the cycling capital of the South West with so many excellent trails close by. You enter the property into a welcoming open-plan living space where you can cuddle up on the corner sofa to enjoy some television, cook a tasty meal in the kitchen to enjoy on the bench-style dining table, or head out the patio doors to take advantage of the barbecue and indulge in some outdoor dining. When it’s time to rest, head into one of the bedrooms; the well-decorated double or the grey finished triple bunk with under-bed storage and hanging space, for those wishing to unpack their personal belongings. These stylish bedrooms are complimented by a contemporary bathroom where guests can take a long soak in the bath after a day of cycling or freshen up in the shower as you get ready for a fancy evening out. Bodmin has a range of shops and supermarkets to grab any self-catering essentials, pubs, and eateries to enjoy some dining out, and plenty of history with the Bodmin Keep Museum and the 18th century Bodmin Jail Attraction which offers exhibitions and overnight ghost walks. Guests can enjoy lots of scenic walks with the Bodmin Beacon hiking trail setting off from the village, the nearby National Forest of Cardinham Woods and National Trust Lanhydrock House with gardens that make for a flowery stroll. Whilst if you prefer to travel on two wheels, the owners of Holston Lodge have kindly provided two bikes, free of charge, for guests to explore the area, and with the popular Camel Trail nearby, you can admire the views from Bodmin through to the beaches at Padstow. Once at Padstow, you are in a great location to explore the outstanding surf, rugged cliffs, and hidden coves of the north coast beaches, with Padstow also boasting the National Lobster Hatchery, lovely harbour front restaurants serving local produce, and the 15th century Prideaux Place with its charming gardens and deer park. In the opposite direction, you can head to the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast, where you can visit the aquarium at Fowey, explore the popular town of St Austell, enjoy the Shipwreck Treasure Museum at Charlestown, or relax at the National Trust Lantic Bay. Also, nearby, you can visit the popular Eden Project, spend a day at Camel Creek Adventure Park with its rides and animal petting, or get up close with exotic animals at Porfell Wildlife Park and Sanctuary. For an excellent trip to Cornwall, with plenty to do and see, choose Holston Lodge as your central base.

Bodmin is a historic town with narrow streets, shops and pubs and is perfectly placed for exploring all the great surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast. On the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail, whilst the Camel Trail, for cyclists and walkers, winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow.
