This lovely detached, 18th-century holiday cottage is perched on a hill overlooking the Georgian Heritage city of Bath, with stunning and far-reaching views across the city skyline, and further superb views from its rooftop terrace. Formerly a gardener’s lodge, it has been carefully restored to provide a comfortable and well-equipped base for exploring the delights of Bath, which include the abbey, pump rooms, the Crescent and many excellent shops and restaurants. Although the town is easily accessible on foot, the return journey is double the time due to the property being on a steep hill and the greater effort required. The view over Bath is fantastic! But only from the balcony on the first floor and the bedrooms. If they would only cut the hedge, the views could also be enjoyed from the ground floor. The cottage was disappointing in equipment and maintenance and not clean. We couldn't use the garden as there was no garden furniture. We found the place to park your car and the way you have to walk impossible. If the owner would only be willing to give up a bit of his garden, you could park next to the cottage. We didn't let this spoil our holiday though and had a fantastic week. A nice walk into Bath and a good bus connection to come back uphill.
