Absolutely fabulous place, set in an amazing location and the hosts Julie and Peter were lovely. We were initially booked somewhere else but they decided a week before we were due to go that they were pulling out of being a host, so we found this place at last minute and moved our booking over and we were very happy with our choice, and think it was an even better place than the one we were meant to have gone to! The lodge itself was immaculate, it was all thoroughly cleaned upon arrival and the rooms were very spacious, there was plenty of toiletries which lasted us the week we stayed, and a lovely selection of tea, coffee and a packet of biscuits on the island when we got in. We loved that this lodge has a full size kitchen as we could do a lot of cooking (this was always our plan, to make loads of food out of a film themed recipe book, and there is loads of supermarkets and recommended restaurants a short drive away in Salisbury and Verwood - Would recommend Cinnamon Lounge for an Indian), the beds were very comfortable and the water was lovely and hot so showers were great! The 3 Lodges are secluded in a quaint village, so it was very quiet bar the sounds of nature which was just what we needed to relax. There was no hustle and bustle it was just us, the vast fields around us and the local nature (we saw pheasants and a hare) and we got to watch all the cows up at the hosts farm wandering across at the top in the day.We loved having the hot tub and where this place is in Cranmore's dark sky reserve area, we could sit in it at night and look at all the stars and night sky! Peter came over every few days to check on the levels and top the hot tub out, luckily we didn't need to request or ask for anything but the interactions we did have with the hosts were great, they were very friendly and felt we could've approached them with anything if we needed to!There is a load of paths and road we could walk along and Martin Down Reserve is just up the road via car or through a public footpath behind the lodge, so if you're one to go out and about for walks/rambles this is perfect to get out to the reserve and walk around. Can't rave about this place enough, and would definitely book again, if not these one one of the other lodges at this site!
