The weather makes such a difference to a holiday in the UK and fortunately it was very good. The cottage is located in a small village with a shop but unfortunately the local pub/restaurant was closed during our stay for refurbished. The Dairy has a nice enclosed garden which allowed our dogs to roam free in a safe environment, also there is a large fenced field adjacent which was available for them to run. The cottage is quite well equipped and comfortable for a summer vacation.Plenty to do within a short drive and local pubs all serve meals and accept dogs indoors when necessary.

We chose the Dairy primarily for its situation close to the Western section of the South Downs Way, which we were pleased to complete (as far as Amberley) as planned, despite the heatwave! The other main attraction was that it was possible for us to accommodate our three dogs in a safe location, with plenty of scope for walks in the adjoining field. The accommodation was convenient and comfortable for our needs and we were very satisfied with it.

Another fantastic stay at Compton Farm Cottages. The location is perfect with a fully enclosed garden for our dogs with open fields literally 2 steps away. Darcy’s tearooms a 2 minute stroll away stock most necessities as well as doing a great breakfast and lovely coffee. The pub opposite is currently closed and up for sale, but the Victoria Inn is less than a mile away and does a great deal on Thursdays - Steak night - The food was excellent. The Dairy itself is ideally laid out for 2 couples sharing with en-suite bedrooms at either end and a kitchen and living room in between giving privacy if wanted. The beach at Aldwick was a 35 minute drive, but easy to park and a bit cafe on the beach. Dogs welcome all year round.
