Situated in the grounds of the owners’ property, this detached lodge was formerly the coach house and stables. It has an attractive angular living room with windows all around giving a sunny aspect and offering views over the garden. Positioned on a private road, convenient for the M27 and M3, the holiday cottage is ideally placed for visiting the New Forest, 10 mins, the historic ships at Portsmouth, Beaulieu with its Motor Museum, the sea at Southampton with its ocean yachts, and beaches locally. Winchester 7 miles. Shop 300 yards, pub ½ mile.

We enjoyed a lovely week in The Coach House, in the owner's grounds. The owner is lovely, with just the right balance of being on hand -v- leaving us to our own devices. The Coach House is tucked away in an enclave of properties; not isolated, but equally not overlooked or in a busy location. We even met the owner's gardener and neighbour during our stay and they were equally friendly.We were able to keep the cottage cool in the height of the summer '26 heatwave, and we are sure we would have equally been able to keep it warm, had we visited out of season. It has all the conveniences needed for a week's self catering, useful if you are using it for more than just a base/bed for the night.It's ideally placed for exploring Hampshire and surrounding counties. We visited Salisbury (Wiltshire) and Poole (Dorset) as well as exploring Winchester, the New Forest, and Portsmouth. We note that other guests had even crossed the Solent as day trippers to the Isle of Wight.We would recommend The Coach House to any couple (plus one) wanting a week in this area. It lives up to its Customer Choice accreditation, which we are more than happy to contribute to.
