Tithe Barn in Lyneham offers a spacious and comfortable stay, ideal for family gatherings and group holidays. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, the friendly and helpful owner, and the well-equipped kitchen. The large living area and enclosed garden are highlights, contributing to a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. While some guests mention the need for updates and additional conveniences, the overall experience is positive, with the property's charm and location near Cotswold attractions being well-received.
The majority of guests found the property to be spotless and very clean, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, a few guests noted areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning or attention to detail.
The property is praised for its great location near Cotswold attractions and its quiet countryside setting, although some guests were disturbed by barking dogs and noted the property is surrounded by other buildings.
Guests enjoyed the spaciousness and layout of the property, particularly the large sitting/dining room. However, some guests found the beds uncomfortable and the showers small, suggesting room for improvement in overall comfort.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and the enclosed garden is appreciated by those with pets. Nonetheless, guests have suggested updates to the bathrooms, better lighting, and more comprehensive instructions for appliances.
While some guests mentioned the lack of a welcome pack, there is not enough information to determine if gifts or additional thoughtful touches are consistently provided or expected, thus a score cannot be given.
Tithe Barn, Lyneham is a superb choice for a large gathering of friends or family looking to be located right in the heart of the Cotswolds and within a very comfortable and spacious barn conversion. We see it as the ideal choice for a family country holiday given its surroundings, tucked down a very quiet lane on the edge of small village. Set on a working farm within a small Cotswolds hamlet, the barn has nearby access to the rolling countryside of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Over the years guests have regularly returned to Tithe Barn (which is a very good sign) and we suspect it is because it has a wonderful open plan living space which is absolutely ideal for entertaining. The owners who are around the corner and happy to give advice and ideas on what to do locally have worked hard to make this an attractive destination and together the property and the classic countryside surroundings make it perfect as a get-a-way choice. Internally the barn has been well renovated and provides superb facilities and touches including the enormous windows in the centre of the building. Externally this English Country barn has an enclosed garden and access to brilliant walks in every direction. An absolute favourite with our customers, and you can see why.

The large village of Lyneham is situated at the southern end of the Cotswold Hills, in rural northern Wiltshire, close to the border with Gloucestershire. Lyneham is probably best remembered as the base of the RAF’s Hercules fleet; the base was closed in 2012 and now hosts a Defence Training College. The village is well served by local businesses, including restaurants, pubs and shops, whilst the larger community of Royal Wootton Bassett is just 4 miles away. The friendly market town of Wootton Bassett was granted Royal patronage in 2011, due to its link with the repatriation of military personnel who sadly lost their lives serving their country overseas.

The minute we arrived we felt like we were home. Itâs very homely feel and has everything you could possibly need. The owner is just a phone call away should you need anything. It was a phenomenal place to stay.

The signs around the property about cleaning and fees that will be charged arenât the most comforting when youâre enjoying a weekend away. All our guests made a comment about these at some point. The light bulbs are extremely cold and bright and no option of dimming, we had to remove most lightbulbs and go to the extreme of checking the local supermarket if we could buy some, as the owner wasnât able to help. It meant having a cosy evening was placing our phone lights round the room to try and make spotlights instead. Beds need replacing, some guests ended up doing mattresses on the floor due to the bed being so squeaky and rocky. Cleaned before arrival as expected but the whole upstairs was over powering smelling of bleach, so we had to air out all the rooms as much as we could. I recommend just making some small tweaks to make guests experiences better and more homely. Good for a group as nice to have multiple bathrooms available, and open living space, but very small outdoor space or area to sit in the sun. Over all a lovely stay due to the company and being all together but definitely some improvements and expectations to be changed.

The accommodation was very spacious and in a quiet location. It is looking tired though in places. The bathrooms need updating. Windows had not been cleaned. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed cooking each night. The children enjoyed watching the horses in the stables and having plenty of space to run around. We will recommend the property to friends and relatives.
