Lodge Two is well positioned to explore both the countryside and the coast, with a variety of walks woven throughout the surrounding fields and the nearby coastal village of Seasalter where you can stroll along its miles of golden sands. Those seeking something different can take to the water via paddle board or sailing boat to admire stunning views across the sea. The historic town of Faversham is also a short drive away; here you can spend the day roaming its cobbled streets which house a market three times a week and a variety of independent shops and cafes, marvel at the stunning heritage building Maison Dieu, stroll along the Standard Quay or brush up on local history at Faversham Stone Chapel. History enthusiasts, looking to immerse themselves in the past should head to Canterbury, famed for its pilgrimage, where they can visit The Crooked House, Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey; there are even guided boat tours focusing on historic and literary sites! Adventure awaits at Lodge Two, Country View Park.

In the county of Kent, the market town of Faversham is booming. This charming town provides tourists the option to explore, shop, cycle, walk, swim, fish, or eat out. It also has the oldest brewery in Britain, which dates back to 1698, as well as a number of intriguing places to see and things to do. Up until the 1950s, many London-based families made "hop plucking" a family holiday as a result of the brewery. One of the best spots to have a few beers is in the fields surrounding Faversham during the summer, when thousands of people swarm there to set up tents and spend the days "hop picking." With its cobblestone lanes, ancient homes, tiny quaint pubs, and several listed buildings, Faversham is proud of its heritage and is even mentioned in the Domesday Book. This town cherishes remembering its unique history. If you're seeking outdoor entertainment, Faversham has more than enough to keep you busy. Why not go swimming in one of the all-year-round pools? Faversham provides three outdoor swimming pools with diving boards, a paddling pool, and white water rapids in the summer. You can bring a lunch and make a day of it; there is lots of grass around the pools for picnics and for kids to play on. There are many walks in the area of Faversham; simply pick up a booklet from the tourist office and decide which one you want to take. The Royal is the ideal location to go if you feel like watching a movie. Since 1936, it has continued to provide tourists with a classic experience, including usherettes to direct you to your seat and popcorn and ice cream during the intermission. Canterbury, Rochester, and Whitstable are all close by for those who want to go further afield. If you want to travel even further, take a ferry or go through the Channel Tunnel; either way, you may be in France or Belgium for lunch and back in time for tea! It is excellent and well worth visiting this area.

The planting at the front blocked the view while seated. However it was a good location and handy for Medway Towns

Good comms with lodge owner to locate a key to second door onto terrace which we needed to open due to hot weather. The lodge was ok, a wee bit tired looking but was a clean enough and well equipped (although the fridge could do with replacing as wasn’t as cold as could have been and freezer compartment too small) Very comfy beds and it suited our needs for a weeks stay.

The furnishings were a little outdated but functional. The lodge was fully equipped with everything you needed including instructions for all the appliances, places of interest, books, games etc. It was set in a gated complex with four other lodges, well off the mail road in a well looked after grassed area overlooking fields. There was secure car parking adjacent to the lodge.
