Step back in time to the 1930’s in this lovingly restored quirky cottage with amazing uninterrupted views of the English Channel..

Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi available. Patio with garden furniture and coal barbecue (please bring own coal). Ample parking. No smoking.. This fantastic and very special Kent holiday cottage is in a spectacular position on the beach at Dungeness. The views year-round are amazing and the owner has provided a telescope so you can enjoy the night sky at its best, the passing of boats up and down the channel and even the birds for which the area is so famous.
Inside, the cottage has been completely refurbished and restored with a 30’s theme from Art Deco mirrors and ornaments and glasses, with a comfortable seating to sink into. Combine this lovely beach location with a wonderfully cosy wood burner and you can see the cottage is well worth a visit whatever the time of year!
As the cottage is close to Dungeness Lighthouse, you may hear the foghorn if its foggy! Please note if you wish to hold a photo shoot or a TV/film production at this property an additional fee will apply. Great place to stay. We were there in November and the property is really cosy. If you don't know Dungeness read about it before booking this is not your typical seaside resort but if you want something different it is great, absolutely unique. I wanted to give a 5 for local amenities but of course it depends what you want. It is very barren but fantastic.

Helvetia is a lovely cosy cottage, with everything you need for a lovely relaxing stay. so quiet and peaceful. you do need a car as Dungenes is isolated. We loved the peacefulnes and dark sky's of an evening. We watched the boats in the channel of an evening and the beautiful sunrises. We will definitely be back next year as Dungenes is such a beautiful place.
