Great location, rural and peaceful, yet only a short journey to Folkestone and Hythe.Great to watch the squirrels through the large picture windows, and the horses as they are walked passed the cottage morning and early evening.Perfect for our tiny dog, especially as she couldn't see the squirrels or horses go by, although I would imagine a larger more energetic dog would be at the window barking a lot! There's a gated paddock in the walled garden behind the cottage perfect for walking our dog. Owners of a less sociable dog need to keep in mind that it also doubles up as a camp site. There is walking in the surrounding countryside in the immediate vicinity. However, the land can be used for military exercises, and while we were there had cattle grazing. For more energetic dogs where the walled garden/paddock is not enough you may need to drive out for your dog walking. However, Lymington forest is only a short drive away.
