The cottage is in a peaceful spot, yet only 2.4 miles from Marden village with local shops and traditional pubs, and main line railway station. The local pub, the West End Tavern, is 1.5 miles on foot. Winery Herbert Hall (1.7 miles), Anno Gin Distillery (2.5 miles) and Balfour Winery (3.5 miles) are close by. Further afield are Scotney Castle (8 miles), Sissinghurst Castle Gardens (10 miles), and Leeds Castle (13 miles). For adventurous family days out, Bedgebury Forest and Bewl Water offer climbing, cycling, mountain biking, play trails and more, whilst everyone is bound to enjoy the Tenterden to Bodiam Steam Railway. The medieval town of Rye is 25 miles away with Camber Sands just 3 miles further along the coast.
