Stroll to the harbour for oysters, or in the opposite direction to Tankerton Slopes, rolling down to a pebble beach with wooden huts. A quiet railway runs past the end of the garden and the station is a 3-minute walk. Bring your bike and cycle the Crab and Winkle Way or along the promenade. Attractions include Canterbury, Howletts Wild Animal Park and Mount Ephraim Gardens. Shop 150 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
