Herne Bay is a seaside town on the north coast of Kent in Southeast England. It is six miles north of Canterbury and four miles east of Whitstable and has easy, frequent public transport links to both as well as down to Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs. Herne Bay Pier is a favourite for many as it has a long stretch of boutique shops, cafes and restaurants, a stage, and some fairground rides. This makes for a great day out and even better memories. You are quite literally spoilt for choice of beaches to visit from this property, Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Sandwich, Deal, Herne Bay, Whitstable, SeaSalter and a few bays in between. Alternatively, you have the historic city of Canterbury with its world-famous cathedral and city walls, its shopping precinct, and Old English high street.
Other attractions worth visiting include Howlett’s Zoo, Port Lympne Zoo, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle and Whitstable for its oysters and castle. Dover on the south coast is famously known for its white chalk cliffs and is the ferry port for crossing the English Channel to France. The Hythe and Dymchurch narrow gauge railway takes you on a scenic route to Dungeness, also worth a visit. Shopaholics will be well catered for with famous high street names and many independent retailers to tempt.

The walk to the closest beach is through a glen and woodland to the rear of the property. Given the elevated position, there are several steps down to the beach itself so would not be ideal for anyone with restricted mobility. However, via a car, there are lots of parking areas a very short drive away.

The Bungalow is lovely...everything you need for a lovely holiday. You get the key code to front door sent by text dead at 3pm day of arrival (fine thats your rental time). however then to recieve voice mails do this do that and keep the noise down because we have elderly neighbours was a bit of a downer ( our kids were inside by 7 and bed by 8pm,,,out all day....thought that was ja bit judgemental). Kids were eager to try hot tub next morning of arrival, as soon as they lifted the hot tub cover i recieved a text saying please wait to use hot tub until my husband comes round to show you controls (he was lovely and kind).......however my son whoes children we was away with was concerned re gdpr......are his kids being filmed in the hot tub to know the lid was lifted just before the text recieved??......also....the dining area is an extension...no heating...no lights...just twinkly christmas light plug in.....so if you wish to play games , read, do jigsaw puzzles bring a lamp with you!...its very dark.......we had a fab holiday with this home as our base,,,,but suggest its overpriced. owners Husband said press the door bell intercome if you need anything.....that wd of been enough for a link in....as all towels are lablelled which to use hot tub and which for bath tub....and manuals for everything else......lovely holiday.....but after paying for holiday home....i suggest we wish to be left to enjoy (with your contact by text /door bell is fine).......ps.....your oven trays need replacing....the metal all stuck to our food ** great holiday though as we was all together **
