Guests say

Byre Cottage in Canterbury offers a peaceful and picturesque retreat with a well-equipped, cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the welcoming hosts, thoughtful touches like home-baked cakes, and the beautiful grounds. The hot tub is a highlight, though shared, and the property's quirky charm adds to the experience. Some guests mention minor issues with internet connectivity and proximity to other properties.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score.

The location is described as peaceful and beautiful, with lovely local walks and a tranquil setting. It is remote, which is perfect for some guests, but the access via a narrow track and the need to open gates may not suit everyone.

The cottage is considered cosy with comfortable beds, and guests have enjoyed relaxing stays. However, the spiral staircase can be tricky at night, and one review mentioned a desire for more privacy.

Facilities like the hot tub and balcony are well-received, but there are comments about slow oven heating and poor phone connection. The shared nature of the hot tub was a drawback for some guests.

Guests were delighted by the thoughtful gestures such as home-baked cakes, wine, and a warm welcome. While these gifts greatly enhanced their experience, it should be noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed.

The cottage is set in a peaceful corner about 3/4 mile up a narrow track. The pluses are: the hot tub, a balcony with table and chairs, a spiral staircase (though it can be tricky to negotiate for a visit to the bathroom in the middle of the night). Negatives: poor phone connection to internet, opening and closing 2 gates to come and go in vehicle, cooker oven very slow to reach temperatureThe owners were friendly and helpful - sorting out any problems arising swiftly and efficiently. 8/10
