Wye, a little village between Ashford and Canterbury, is located in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The picturesque village was once home to a popular racecourse and is overlooked by the Wye Downs area of chalk downland and woodland. Its historical roots as an important communication centre can be traced to the ford across the River Great Stour, which connected ancient trackway across the North Downs. Furthermore, in 2013, it was ranked as the UK's third-best location to call home. The Green now hosts a bimonthly farmers market where residents and visitors may buy fresh vegetables and see the remarkable collection of historic buildings that the community has on its National Register of Historic Places. A trip to the nearby Jacobean Godinton House and Gardens or The New Fox Inn can be followed by a trip to the nearby supermarket in Ashford. Visit the Roman Museum, St. Augustine's Abbey, the majestic Westgate Towers Museum and viewpoint (complete with an escape room! ), and the Norman-built Canterbury Cathedral in the famed, ancient city of Canterbury, which is easily accessible through a lovely drive through the aonb. Wye serves as a great home base from which to explore any of these nearby areas.

    But such a lovely cottage.

  • Paul

    Very comfortable and cosy.

All quality furniture and fittings - plus the best bedding, cushions, teatowels etc. The king sized bed gave me the most comfortable and much-needed sleep each night. The little garden with table and chairs (where we ate our breakfast) was full of lovely plants - a real bee haven. Many more great features, just too many to list. I'd give it 10/10
