Owner gave us a great welcome. What a wonderful experience to spend a week in a beautiful thatched cottage. Full of charm and comfort and tasteful decor. Lovely garden to sit out in and overall very relaxing. In places a little tired; could do with a little more TLC.

Stairs were a bit of a challenge but undoubtedly the most comfortable cottage out of the six we have hired so far. Very quirky and very easy to feel you are in a welcoming environment. Really enjoyed our week.

The property itself, is a charming, traditional thatched cottage, steeped in history in very pretty surroundings. We were however, quite concerned about the facilities and standard of cleaning. The microwave was corroded inside, dangerous and therefore unusable. The toaster was not particularly clean and when we tried to use it once it tripped the switch, suggesting that the electrical standards are questionable. We had no hot water upstairs coming out of the taps, and had to use the electric shower to run a bath for the children. The cubicle shower which was in the main bedroom was filthy, with dead spiders and long hairs coming out of the trap. The pots and pans were not really clean and it seemed that no care had been given before our arrival to check that cleanliness standards overall had been met. In our opinion, the property could have benefitted from a thorough cleaning from room to room beforehand.
