The location is appreciated for its quiet, rural charm and proximity to Yarmouth and other attractions. The convenience of a bus stop is also noted, although the proximity to the road is mentioned once.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with adequate heating and a cosy atmosphere. However, some mention limited space in the upstairs bedroom and steep stairs, which may affect the comfort level for some visitors.
While the property is well-presented, guests have raised issues with the shower's temperature and pressure, and the lack of an oven. The kitchen's limited space for food preparation is also a concern.

Yarmouth town is located on the north west of the Isle of Wight, and acts as one of the gateways to the island with a ferry services operating from Lymington. The historic port town sits at the mouth of the River Yar and contains some of the oldest architecture on the island including a 16th-century castle. The harbour at Yarmouth is always very busy with both ferries and smaller boats, and the town offers a good variety of things to do for visitors. The history of the town is very evident as you walk round and a trip along the Grade II listed pier is highly recommended for views across The Solent, and is also known locally for being a great spot for fishing.
The fantastic Colwell Bay is located a short drive away and is one of the most picturesque beaches in the west. Spectacular views across The Solent to mainland England, with clear waters and gently sloping sand and shingle, it’s an ideal beach for swimming. There is a bar, restaurant and a café to try the exquisite seafood, experience some of the finest sunsets or enjoy a stroll along to neighbouring Totland Bay. The Isle of Wight is a stunning island to visit with lots to do for everyone. There is a licensed café within walking distance of the property.

Sadly we had big issues with the shower. It only produced luke warm water with zero pressure and no angle on the shower head meaning you had to stand right up against the control unit to be under the water. We did tell the owner but we’re made to feel that it was fine. The sealant on the shower also has black mould and needs replacing. There is no oven (we knew this when booking) but felt that kitchen is only really any good for snacks, light meals that can be done on the 2 ring hob or microwave meals. The microwave is small and meals have to be reheated individually. An air fryer would have been really beneficial. There is very little surface space to prepare or serve any food. The sofa is comfortable but a light colour and in need of a clean as it looks quite grubby in places. Overall the property is clean but in need of some attention. The property is well supplied with heaters. Parking is excellent and right next to the property. It was peaceful and quiet.
