Pigeon Coo Farmhouse offers a peaceful countryside escape with a beautiful garden and decking area. The property is spacious, with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. It's ideal for dog owners and those seeking tranquillity. Some guests noted the kitchen could be updated and better equipped.
Cleanliness has been an issue with reports of the property not being cleaned prior to arrival, dirty linen, and unemptied bins. However, cleaners were responsive when issues were raised.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, beautiful countryside, and proximity to local walks and the sea. The rural setting on the Isle of Wight is ideal for a relaxing retreat.
The farmhouse provides comfortable beds and soft towels, with a spacious garden for relaxation. Some guests mentioned creaky beds and a small fridge, which slightly impacted the overall comfort.
Facilities are adequate with a good shower and outdoor seating. However, the kitchen is dated, some furniture is broken, and there are issues with the dishwasher and WiFi. Maintenance could be improved.
While guests appreciated the welcome basket, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of thoughtful gestures across all stays. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such amenities will be provided.

Nestled in a stunning conservation area, the holiday property is a short walk to the historic Newtown Creek, and set in woodlands, it offers direct access onto walk ways. The farmhouse was originally farm cottages to Hamstead Grange and parts of the property are believed to date back to Tudor times, when the grange was owned by the Monks of Quarr Abbey on the island.
Seashore and cliff walks can be found along the coastal paths and outdoor pursuits are well catered for including horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, watersports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages on this beautiful sunny island. The Needles landmark attraction is a must see and is a short distance away to the west, with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and the coloured sands of Alum Bay. Why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, perhaps Blackgang Chine which is the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the world renowned sailing town of Cowes. Whatever you decide, one thing’s for sure, the Isle of Wight has plenty to offer for everybody. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

As mentioned in previous reviews the kitchen has a few issues, only 7 mugs. Dishwasher did not clean, we resorted to hand washing all our dishes, not a big problem for four adults. Kitchen would benefit from being updated, with a larger fridge.Yes the Staircase was a tad bit difficult, not only steep but slopes to the right, and no it wasn't due to the wine!! We managed but had to take it very steadily. Road to cottage was a single unmade track, rather pot holed in places, quite a bone shaker. A very quirky cottage in a lovely peaceful setting, loved the garden, lots of walks, dogs had a great time. Unfortunately not really suitable for four young at heart elderly ladies, but we did enjoy our stay. So regret will probably not return to the cottage.

Refrigerator too small for families, also mould present, freezer drawer broken, kitchen dated, drawers do not fit, dust on glass shelves. Only 7 mugs but sleeps 9, kitchen cupboards some doors not attached. Some lamps had no working bulb, upstairs bathroom spot light over bath hangs loose and not working. Downstairs toilet seat loose and moves when being used. Dining room chair back broken and unsafe if you lean back. Damp on wall in second living room which has a linen cupboard in it but the doors do not close on it and in fact hang open.Last holiday makers dog toy under furniture, also bins had loose waste in them despite notes to say sealed bags only. Outside football area had multiple holes which the kids fell over. Reclining chair in the main living area broken and none working. Dishwasher did not clean dishes, plates OK but mugs and bowls required a hand wash. All sounds negative but meant as constructive feedback as the holiday home was spacious, beds very comfortable, decking and outdoor seating good. Great holiday was had by all. The cottage just needs a deep clean, addressing the snagging list and a kitchen up grade.

When we arrived the house had not been cleaned. Dirty linen and towels. Had to phone owner. Cleaners came out and we had to vacate house next day so they could clean. WiFi really poor. TVs didn’t work as no internet. As an observation staircase would be difficult for older people. Creaky beds and small fridge for number of people. Would not go back.
