Elm Cottage is a spacious and comfortable holiday home in a peaceful, scenic location close to the coast and walking paths. Elm Cottage is located in an area known as the Undercliff, a unique location between the cliff and the sea which provides a micro-climate, an ideal haven for a variety of flora and fauna, many species of which are only found in Mediterranean countries. This semi-detached holiday home comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests and is pet friendly too. It can also be potentially booked alongside the owners other property when available, Beech Cottage ref W43496, which is the adjoining property next door and is able to accommodate up to 4 guests.
The spectacular surrounding coastline gives access to beaches and coves such as Woody Bay and Steephill. The nearest town is Ventnor and still retains its original Victorian seaside charm and makes a great day out for all the family. Just under two miles away from the property you will find a number of lovely seaside tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the esplanade, including the well-known Spyglass Inn. There are also some quirky and bespoke shops, park and a children’s paddling pool. Sea and cliff walks can be found along the coastal paths in both directions from the property, and outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages, including The Needles with its chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. Alternatively visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes, as well as the popular resorts of Shanklin and Sandown. Elm Cottage is in the perfect location if you want a quiet, peaceful holiday. It is a comfortable, clean, well equipped cottage down a very quiet lane. We found all that we needed there. Well situated for all the south coast for walking, cycling and driving.Just a mile from the Botanical gardens, close to Ventnor and Shanklin. We visited the rescue bears, Benji and Balu at the Wildheart Conservation Trust at Sandown and saw lots of native wildlife right on our doorstep.Walked up Tennyson Down and went to the Needles. A beautiful place with something for everyone within easy reach

This is a lovely little cottage in a quietier/warmer part of the island but is in need of some tlc to make it truly comfortable. There are some nice walks but due to coastal errosion does involve the road in parts. Short walk to a pebbly beach tidal dependant and steep incline back up also path can be a bit tricky in places. Gorgeous sunsets. Short drive to a lot of other places on the Island that are worth a visit.

Lovely little cottage in a peaceful setting.Quite well stocked except for a tin opener ! Top tip,take extra towels as there was only one per person for the week, having said that there is a washing machine.Good value for money,just needs a little TLC, toilet paper holder falling off the wall.downstairs loo. Front door sticks, also quite a lot of chipped cups,plates etc.
