The coast, shops, restaurants, tearooms and pubs are all within easy walking distance of the cottage. You can easily stroll to Freshwater Bay or across Tennyson Down to The Needles Lighthouse and the coloured sands of Alum Bay, whilst taking in the stunning views of the island coastline. The beautiful Compton Bay which is popular with surfers is close by, with its dinosaur footprints and fossil hunting, plus there are several small coves and waterways ideal for swimming, paddling, and boating. Sandy beaches can also be found at Totland Bay and Colwell Bay, both within 2 miles, or travel a short distance across the island to the more traditional seaside resorts of Shanklin, Ventnor and Sandown. Freshwater Bay has an 18 hole golf course and there are two sailing clubs in Yarmouth, close to The George Hotel and Beach Club.
