The pub is noted county wide for its hearty food and will welcome you in on your return from the high-street markets or a treat back from the theatre, if you don’t fancy cooking.

We had a great stay - right in the centre of Winchester so we could walk everywhere locally.The cottage is so beautiful, just as pictured and we loved it.Overall the house and incredibly well equipped- little things that are often missed from holiday houses (cling film, dishwasher tablets etc) were all included which makes family life so much easier - it’s a small things but makes a huge difference.

Pemberley is a lovely cottage in a wonderful location. The garden remodelling is now complete and the cottage is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. We had no problem finding a parking space. Located in Kingsgate village, the cathedral and High Street are a short walk away. The Kingsgate Deli is excellent , as is The Wykeham Arms. The Queen Inn is also a short walk away and has a lovely garden for outdoor dining. The cathedral is stunning and the Great Hall is worth visiting. It was also interesting to see the redeveloped Peninsula Barracks.We had lovely walks along the river and through the Water Meadows.Highly recommend both Winchester and Pemberley.

We recently stayed at Pemberley in Winchester. First impressions are important and so we were shocked to see the spacious garden shown on the website has been totally blocked off by an ugly chipboard hoarding 8 feet high and a sitting area with dirty patio table and chairs (which I had to clean). A garden was to be an important part of our stay and this problem I now realise, had been raised with the booking agent and the owners by previous visitors in April - so there was plenty of time for new visitors to be alerted to this unpleasant change (which changes the product I payed for). In all other respects Pemberley was a great location.
