The Little Granary is highly praised for its peaceful setting and charming character. Guests appreciate the friendly owners, the property's cleanliness, and its suitability for dogs. Its proximity to the New Forest and local amenities is noted, alongside the enjoyment of farm life and wildlife. Some minor concerns about facilities and comfort are mentioned, but overall, guests look forward to returning.
Reviews consistently mention that The Little Granary is very clean, with only one mention of dog hair affecting a child's eczema, but it's noted that this was not visible prior to the child playing on the floor. The property is generally upheld to a high standard of cleanliness.
The location is frequently described as tranquil and ideal for exploring the New Forest and surrounding areas. Guests enjoy the farm setting and proximity to local attractions, contributing to a high rating for location.
Comfort is well-regarded, with the property being described as cosy and the bed as comfortable. However, there are a few mentions of limited space for larger dogs and a desire for more comfortable seating, slightly lowering the score.
Facilities are generally good, with all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Some guests mention limited cooking facilities and outdoor seating that could be improved. The mention of a weak shower and desire for a larger TV suggest room for improvement.
While guests express appreciation for the hospitality, there is no specific mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under 'thoughtfulness'. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.
West Park Farm, in the very pretty, historic village of Rockbourne is part of a working beef and arable farm. You are welcome to explore here - there is a large pond, bluebell wood and occasionally you may be able to help the owner with day to day farm tasks. There is also a hard tennis court which guests can enjoy, but please bring your own racquets. What was once a small granary has been converted into an attractive, detached studio. Small but perfectly formed, much thought has been given to providing everything you'll need without cluttering the compact space. The high raftered ceiling makes the living area feel spacious and the neat kitchen area has a two-ring halogen hob and a multi-function microwave, adequate for preparing simple meals. With pleasant views overlooking neighbouring fields and a natural pond, The Little Granary is an ideal retreat.
On the banks of the River Avon, Fordingbridge offers a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants and a local museum. The town has seven arches of the Great Bridge. The New Forest National Park is 1.5 miles away, with picturesque villages, pubs, and acres of rugged moor, heath and woodland with wild ponies. The Elizabethan manor house at Breamore, the New Forest Water Park, and the home of the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, are attractions of the area.

The owners couldnât have been more accommodating and were so very kind, showing myself and my 7 year old Grandson the cow sheds and letting him join in at feeding time with them and the sheep. A beautiful setting with a variety of things to do not far away. A little constructive criticism would only be that the water pressure in the shower could be much better, new curtains and a deep clean of the kitchen utensils as they were dirty and dusty. Thanks for sharing your wonderful property!! Janette & Archie

The Little Granary is well stocked with all the equipment you need, there are pleasant walks around the farm and my wife enjoyed our visit to see the cows. Our dog had a fantastic weekend and was very welcome. The New Forest and Fordingbridge are a few minutes drive. If there was any issue it was the low water pressure for the shower. All in all a great weekend

The bed was so uncomfortable we did not want to spend another night there, The steps were so small that it was dangerous. There should certainly be a hand rail by the door. Parking area was too tight. Luckily we brought our smaller car. There was no welcome pack and only half a toilet roll. The mat by the bed was dirty from a previous dog. We would like a refund as this was the worst cottage we have stayed in. Mrs Mrion Cassidy
