Uncork a bottle of wine and gather together at the nearby dining table to tuck into a delicious meal, or make mealtimes an alfresco affair and soak in the fresh sea air in the rear garden. Enjoy some down time on the balcony adjoining the king-size bedroom on the first floor, whilst two queen size rooms can be found across the way, each offering ample storage space to unpack your belongings. At the end of an action-packed day, make use of the bath or the overhead shower to rinse off any sandy feet before bed. Pack up your bucket and spade and make the most of your beachfront location by taking the short stroll to the Hayling Island Beach, where you'll find charming nautical-themed huts lining the golden sands, offering a truly lovely setting to paddle the shores or lose yourself in the pages of a good book. Expect thrills aboard the roller coasters at Funland Amusement Park, or battle the little ones to a game of bowling or Pirates Adventure Golf; the adults of the group can keep entertained with a game at one of three golf courses on the island. Take a break from doing the cooking and treat yourselves to a homecooked meal at one of the many eateries on offer across the island, or venture into the heart of nearby Portsmouth where you'll be sure to find something to suit all tastes and budgets. Whilst in Portsmouth, be sure to climb to the top of the iconic Spinnaker Tower and soak in the spectacular views stretching as far as the Isle of Wight; thrill seekers can venture out onto the glass-floored platform and take in the sights of Portsmouth harbour below. Board the passenger ferry and embark on an adventure to the Isle of Wight, where you can explore the delights of the island aboard the Isle of Wight Steam Railway or come face-to-face with rare and exotic animals at the Amazon World Zoo. Settled just south of Havant in the desirable county of Hampshire rests Hayling Island. Connected to the main land off the south coast of England via a bridge, the island is decorated with glorious golden sands and makes an idyllic destination for a seaside retreat. There's plenty of outdoor activities, including the four-mile Hayling Billy coastal path, windsurfing, sailing and golf, whilst thrills can be had at Funland amusement park. Nearby Emsworth and Chichester are both well worth a visit.
