The lodge was in a lovely setting amongst the sheep farm and overlooking the horse paddock. It was a really comfortable stay with cosy beds and bedding and a well-equipped kitchen. We did have a slight issue with both showers, the owner managed to fix one but not the other. The veranda was a little dusty and covered in cobwebs but it’s understandable on a farm and at the end of a very dry summer. It has great transport links with the mainline train to London just a few minutes drive away. We had a wonderful stay and the baked brownies were a delicious treat, thank you.

We very much enjoyed Larch Lodge. Jim and Karen are friendly and helpful. There are four lodges on their sheep farm, so if you're bothered by sheep wandering about then this holiday isn't for you but we liked them. The lodges are in the same area but spaced widely enough that we weren't bothered by any noise and there is plenty of parking a bit nearer to the farm lane, plus it is nearly always possible to park close to the lodge for loading/unloading (subject to infrequent farm activity). Larch Lodge has a large balcony with an attractive view onto mature trees along a small stream. Although the weather was very hot, we could open the large double doors into the lodge and the sliding door onto the balcony to get a nice breeze through the lodge so it was comfortable even during the day. Recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Larch Lodge. It was set in a beautiful rural area, with far reaching views, and walks available on the farm. It has a very peaceful feeling, with some horses, and lots of sheep for company. The welcome cake from the hosts was lovely surprise too Excellent base from which to explore the local area
