Guests say

The Cowstall is a charming and peaceful cottage with beautiful countryside views, ideal for dog owners and those seeking tranquility. It offers a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and is great for walks, with some guests noting the need for a car due to its location. The property's unique mezzanine bedroom adds character, though it may not suit everyone.

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests found it clean and well-maintained, while others noted cobwebs, spiders, and a greasy kitchen extractor fan. This suggests room for improvement in this area.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, beautiful views, and proximity to walking areas and places of interest. However, the need for a car to access shops slightly impacts the score.

Guests found the bed comfortable and the cottage cozy, but mentioned issues with the height of the mezzanine, steep stairs, and some uncomfortable furniture. The comfort level is generally good, with some caveats for those with mobility issues or taller stature.

The facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good shower. However, guests noted minor annoyances such as a floppy shower head, limited clothes storage, and a preference for an oven over a dishwasher. Maintenance issues like a tricky gate catch and a window that couldn't be opened due to a missing key were also mentioned.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Absolutely delightful and peaceful accommodation with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. I would definitely stay there again. It's important to note, however, that if you have mobility issues, the sleeping area is on a mezzanine level. You will also need a car to get to the nearest shops. Overall, though, this is definitely a very amenable place to stay with lots of lovely walking areas.
