The Garden Cottage offers a fantastic base for exploring the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty with access to the Ashdown Forest right from the property. Inside, the property has been carefully styled and finished to a very high standard with everything you would expect from a self-catering property. There is a spacious open plan living area, a modern kitchen and a separate bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and en-suite shower room. The cottage was originally a tuck shop in the grounds of a small school and has a decked area with outside seating and additional seating to the rear of the cottage, with direct access into the Forest. Ashdown Forest is also renowned as the home of Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh. The Forester's Arms pub is only 0.5 miles away with shopping in nearby Uckfield (8 miles away) and a main line station with an hourly service to London. There are many interesting historic houses, castles and gardens nearby to explore as well as the Bluebell Railway at Sheffield Park.

A pleasant rural property in a fantastic location opening straight onto Ashdown Forest. The hosts are very hospitable and went beyond in making sure we were comfortable and provided for. The local pub is good for a beer, but you'll need a car for shopping and dining - though the cottage is well equipped for self catering.

A lovely cosy space right on the Ashdown Forest, equipped with everything you could need for a great stay. Wonderfully kind and thoughtful hosts provided a very warm welcome and lots of information about the surrounding area. So close to nature that bunny rabbits can be spotted when you’re doing the washing up!
