It was cold and wet. The flat was toasty warm, though. In fact, we had to turn the heating off at night as it was set to be on all the time, which seems odd and an expensive option. It is small, but that is obvious, and, unusually for a one-bedroom flat, has seven steps down from living room to bedroom as well as the several steps up from quayside to front door, which might be a problem for some. The town end of the access road is like a ploughed field and needs great care to drive over. It was clean and the facilities worked, though the TV did not seem able to cope with Netflix very well, despite the broadband service being very, very fast; it kept dropping out. We used an iPad instead. There is no BBC iPlayer app on the TV either. Broadcast TV seemed fine, though we never watch it. The river forms a fascinating view through the front window, with wading birds active at low water.
