About this property

The Rivendale is a delightful, two-bedroom holiday lodge resting on the tranquil Beauport Park Site in Hastings, East Sussex. Offering off-road parking for two cars, an enclosed garden, and a collection of immaculate, tastefully-appointed interiors, this lovely ground-floor abode makes an idyllic base for a family, group of friends, or even sharing couples looking to relax with a refreshing escape near the magnificent High Weald AONB. Park up next to your lovely new home-from-home, wooden-clad and set within a peaceful, semi-rural setting. Inside The Rivendale, discover a well-presented, contemporary living space, with an open-plan design housing a fully-equipped kitchen, an elegant dining table seating four, and an inviting sitting space with a plush sofa, faux fireplace, and a sleek Smart TV. The property features a sun room, whilst a handy utility room contains a washing machine that'll help you keep on top of laundry throughout your stay. In the evenings, enjoy a dip in the bath or rejuvenate with a shower on your way to settling down for a well-earned rest in either a decadent double bedroom or twin. If you fancy exploring the local area, you won't have to travel far to find your nearest amenities, with The Harrow Inn, a traditional pub serving hearty fare, the Anant convenience store, and a Sainsbury's supermarket resting just a stone's throw from the Beauport Park site. The golfing enthusiasts of the group can enjoy a round at the nearby Beauport Park Golf & Country Club, whilst the breathtaking Old Roar Gill nature reserve lies a short drive away, home to awe-striking vistas and serene walking trails. For a day out, head into the heart of Hastings, a historic coastal town home to the pristine landscapes of East Hill, Ecclesbourne Glen, and the Hastings Country Park; the lush, peaceful settings of Hastings Pier and Beach; and the excellent, must-visit attractions of Smugglers Adventure, the Shipwreck Museum, and Hastings Aquarium. All of this and more is yours to enjoy when you choose a stay at The Rivendale.

The large historic town of Hastings offers a great mix of interesting places to visit, and is comprised of three parts, joined by the promenade. On one side is the Old Town, with narrow streets or 'twittens', attractive houses, Shipwreck and Fisherman's museums, wonderful tall black net huts, a fresh fish market, seafood restaurants and cafés. In the middle there is a contemporary shopping centre and on the other side is St Leonards on Sea with its fashionable Norman Road with antique and vintage shops, art galleries, examples of Burton's architecture (of Kew Gardens and London Zoo fame), Marine Court Art Deco flats designed in the shape of the HMS Queen Mary, and the remains of the Amsterdam, which is visible at low tide at Bulverhythe. West Hill in Hastings is home to the Smugglers Adventure and Pelham Beach, and East Hill offers the Hastings Country Park, 660 acres of ancient woodlands, grasslands and heathlands crossing five miles over cliffs and rugged terrain, plus East Hill can also be reached by taking the 'lift', the steepest funicular railway in Britain. Whilst exploring Hastings, visit The Stade and watch fishermen land their catch, plus why not take a trip to Blue Reef Aquarium and the remains of Hastings Castle? Pevensey Castle, dating from the 4th century, and the first Norman Church are twelve miles away. Further afield enjoy the NT properties of Bodiam Castle, Sissinghurst and Scotney Castle, the cinque port of Rye, the abbey at Battle or the beach and dunes at Camber Sands.

We have never experienced such levels of comfort and amenities in 40 years of staycations topped off with a wonderful 'welcome package'. VFM is an understatement! Thanks so much to our hosts.

It’s beautiful and luxurious and well equipped. The beds are comfy and it’s lovely and warm . The hosts sent us a lovely email prior to arrival and the was an amazing welcome pack when we arrived. Really can’t praise it enough. The photos don’t do it justice

The lodge is very homely and the beds and sofas very comfortable. Two things which were unusual and we particularly liked were the sun room and separate utility room. One thing that either wasn't obvious from the listing or we didn't pick up on, is that the lodge is at the bottom of a large very steep holiday park and walking up to the clubhouse (which seemed to be shut most of the time we were there) and seasonal outdoor pool is a real effort! The site is very meandering and if you haven't got a good sense of direction it is easy to get lost - although the owners have a plentiful supply of site maps. This meandering affect with properties dotted amongst the trees means you are amongst nature and we regularly had squirrels hopping across the garden and along the fence which was lovely. The owners clearly care about making their guests stay easy. Sam contacted us a couple of days before with a personal message and instructions for finding the place and key details. And also during the stay to warn us of local area maintenance which could affect the tv signal. All in all a good base for visiting the area as close to Battle and Hastings and a short drive to Rye, Bexhill and Bodium. If we visit the area again we have no hesitation in going back.
