About this property

Harold Rise is situated between east and west hill in the heart of Hastings Old Town, minutes from stunning walks and views and close to the seafront or the eclectic High Street with it’s cafe culture, award winning bakery’s and selection of independent shops.

You enter the apartment through the porch sliding doors into your own entrance way with stairs leading up. The lounge is light and airy and has uninterrupted views to the rear. A dining table for two is a pleasant spot for leisurely breakfasts or evening meals. The kitchen has an electric two ring hob and a combination grill, oven microwave for your catering needs, should you choose to eat in. The bathroom is modern with bath, overhead shower, hand basin & WC. The bedroom is to the front of the apartment & is a bright, light room with ample wardrobe space for the duration of your stay.

The apartment is only five minutes walk from many lovely pubs, restaurants and cafes, you really are spoilt for choice. There is a launderette in the Old Town High street, if you need to do any holiday laundry during your stay. The owners are in the apartment below, so if you have any questions during your visit, they are always happy to help.

Although there is no garden, there is a bench at the front of the property, where you are able to sit and enjoy the world passing by, but with everything on your doorstep, I expect you will be out visiting the local tourist sights and surrounding area.

There is off road parking on the driveway for one car, during your stay.

At Harold Rise you are perfectly situated to explore all The Old Town of Hastings has to offer without needing to get in your car.

Hastings and beyond

Harold Rise is less than ten minutes from the sea front and a leisurely five minute stroll to the bustling High Street. The Old Town is an eclectic mix of bric-a-brac shops, galleries, independent boutiques, restaurants, pubs and coffee shops. It is hard to pass the window of the award winning Judges Bakery, without being tempted to go in, you have been warned. If you are looking for evening entertainment then take in a film at the Electric Palace Cinema, an independent community based cinema which aims to bring you a wide choice of alternative films and film related events. Sign up for a Foyle’s War trail and visit all the locations used in the Old Town for the popular TV series. Looking to explore the Country Park then why not take the funicular up to the top or, if feeling fit, the many steps or footpaths close to the cottage. The view is worth the effort and you can walk for miles taking in the cliff views. Hastings Pier is located a pleasant walk along the seafront and throughout the year holds music events, so worth seeing if there is something that takes your fancy as tickets sell fast. The town is famous for the biggest beach-launched fishing fleet in Britain and much of the tradition has been kept. The net drying huts and fishing fleet can be found on the beach today, along with the many fresh fish stalls. The Jerwood Gallery is found close by and The Shipwreck and Coastal Heritage Museum is worth a visit.

The historic towns of Rye and Battle are a short drive or train trip away and are really worth a visit and a chance to step back in time and explore the medieval past and walk in the steps of smugglers and conquers in times gone by.

You are of course in 1066 Country and with that comes, Castles, National Trust Gardens and Grand Houses, plenty to visit during your stay but too many for me to list.
