Since Queen Victoria's reign, Eastbourne has been the go-to spot for British seaside holidays. This beautiful coastal town has grown in popularity over the years due to its proximity to London and pleasant weather year-round. Even if you're not quite ready to jump into the water, you can still enjoy the sea air by taking a stroll along one of the five miles of award-winning shingle beaches. The historic Eastbourne Pier was constructed around the year 1866 and features an amusement arcade, cafes, shops, a nightclub, and access to speed boat rides around the bay. After a day of exploring the town's museums, galleries, and antique shops, relax with some afternoon tea at the Victorian Tea Rooms on the pier and watch the waves crash against the pier's wooden planks. Golfers have their pick of four courses in the area, and tennis fans can enjoy the aegon International women's and men's tournaments in June, just before Wimbledon. If you're feeling active and adventurous, you can even participate in the Eastbourne Extreme weekend, which features sporting events such as mountain biking, skateboarding, sailing, and windsurfing. Eastbourne's four major theatres host everything from traditional seaside shows and musicals to classical ballets and opera for those who would rather sit back and be entertained. If you happen to be in the area in the month of August, pack a picnic and be ready for Airbourne, a worldwide air show that travels over the water. Treasure Island, perfect for sunny days, and the Drusillas Park Zoo are just two of the many attractions available in Eastbourne if you want to spend a day away from the beach. If you're looking for a holiday destination that has something for the whole family, then Eastbourne is the place to go.

The house was fine to stay in as a base for exploring the local area. We had a problem with the faulty oven which was frustrating for the whole week and this tripped the upstairs fuses and showers, thankfully Sykes were on the end of the phone to advise us. We understand this will now be replaced. The house was generally comfortable, and we had a pleasant stay. Our only recommendation for improvements would be the bedding was very rough and uncomfortable, with 'bobbly' sheets and a rough feel to the duvet covers and pillow covers and the top floor double bed was very hard. The carpets has not been thoroughly vacuumed when we arrived and had bits of tissue on them in the bedrooms. The carpets are worn and for the price of the property I would expect better quality bedding and fresher carpets.

You can see that it is important to the hosts to satisfy their guests in the best possible way. Nice location at the marina. However, the main image does not show the house in question. Anyway, we'd love to come back.

The property was very well kept and we loved the eclectic mix of decoration. Somebody's well- loved grandparents were clearly represented as well as the straightforward ' Regatta ' theme. Very sweet! Beds etc were in good condition and comfy and the kitchen was well equipped.
