This is the worst cottage we have stayed in over the 40 plus years of using English Country Cottages and Cottages.com. The approach was not well maintained and the steps to the property breaking up. Some worrying electrical items were left inside. There was a sauna we were instructed not to use and an upstais area again not to be used. The cottage was ill equipped inside and smelled strongly of damp and mould. I would have left immediately if we had not arranged to meet our son the next day. There was no instruction books or visitor book or recommedations. We usually find a list of local food shops, restaurants doctors etc. The only instruction book we found was for the microwave.I have never before felt so disappointed and let down by our accommodation.

This cottage is absolutely lovely and Penn is a great location for a weekend away. The place is cozy, has good level of comfort and great garden. It is 5minutes by cab away from Beaconsfield train station and there is a lovely pub down the road. The only isue (which I think its solvable) is that we had troubles checking in because the owner was unresponsive and sent the wrong instructions/late. Luckily Cottages customer service was helpful and was able to let us in. However, we had to wait 2 hours before we were able to find a solution. Moreover, the place could use with a better clean as it is a bit dusty. Overall, lovely cottage with few things to improve. Great service upon cottages to help us.

Lovely location, rural and picturesque. The property is very characteristic and if you like old style buildings, its great. The instructions werent clear on how to acces the property and we couldnt get in contact with the owner. We walked around the property for almost half an hour trying to get in. The bedroom had a huge floor to ceiling window with no curtain/blind, which woke us at sunrise every morning. There is also only one light, right acros the far side of the room, so not great once it was dark. The living area wasnt the most comfortable, a tiny uncomfortable sofa, barely big enough for two. Kitchen was satisfactory. Bathroom was okay, no bath, and the door didnt shut properly. There is a sauna, which youre not allowed to use, that was disappointing. Despite this, the owner was chatty and had a great knowledge of the local area. And the surrounding countryside was lovely, some nice dog walks. Very easy to get into Beaconsfield. Very quiet place.
