The Barn Suite in High Wycombe offers a spacious and characterful retreat with a welcoming host. Guests appreciate its proximity to local attractions, country walks, and pubs. The surrounding gardens and historic charm add to the pleasant experience, although some noted areas needing attention.
The property is generally described as clean and tidy, but some guests reported issues with outdoor maintenance and unkempt gardens, which slightly affected the cleanliness perception.
The location is highly praised for its scenic surroundings, proximity to villages, country walks, and pubs, as well as easy access to London, making it an attractive spot for guests.
While the property is found to be spacious and generally comfortable, several guests mentioned an uncomfortable bed and a need for modernisation in the bathroom and kitchen, which impacts the overall comfort level.
Facilities are adequate but several reviews point out issues with maintenance, such as non-working lights, broken shower tiles, and a need for refurbishment in the kitchen and bathroom.
There is insufficient information regarding thoughtfulness, such as the presence of gifts or special touches provided by the host, to accurately assess this category.

Poor directions. No welcome. One of two key safes did not open. Freezing on arrival. Uncomfortable bed. Tiles missing from small shower and unsightly hole in front base. Many ceiling lights did not work but managed to get one working and replaced two others but no working lights over cooking area or bathroom mirror. Workmen attempted to deliver scaffolding but we managed to prevent this.

We loved the barn cottage and its surroundings, with Penn village and Beaconsfield not far away if we needed anything, or just to explore, and there were plenty of country walks and pubs nearby. The cottage and gardens were delightful and our host was very welcoming. We enjoyed sitting beside the large pool watching the fish, exploring the local area, and being in the comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Our only suggestion would be to have a separate bin for recycling.
