You can rent a bike from the local council run hire stands and cycle along the coast, taking in the fresh sea air and beautiful beaches en route to Mudeford Quay (3 miles), which is the entrance to Christchurch Harbour. The edge of the New Forest National Park is just a short drive where you can cycle or stroll through wonderful heathland, and forest trails, catching glimpses of the New Forest ponies and other local wildlife. In the opposite direction, the amenities of Christchurch (4 miles) and Bournemouth (9.5 miles) are well worth a visit.
