About this property

Tudor Manor House is a Grade II listed building, built by the Monks of Glastonbury in 1489.  It still retains its grandeur and many period features, including a Tudor fireplace, chandeliered ceilings and four-poster beds. It is surrounded by 20 acres of informal gardens and grounds and provides magnificent views across the Somerset Levels towards the Mendip Hills. This is an amazing venue and setting available for private hire, enabling family and friends to gather together.

The house is only rented for exclusive use. It is a unique medieval manor noted for its warmth and hospitality. Guests will be greeted in the magnificent great hall where in the winter a log fire provides a warm welcome, and in the summer extensive lawns prove a delightful setting for a drinks reception.

Tudor Manor House is situated in a small village 7 miles east of J23 of the M5.  It is just five miles from Glastonbury and 10 miles from the beaches of Burnham on Sea. The house is within walking distance of a Nature Reserve, a designated area of outstanding beauty, and a short drive from Cheddar and Wells.

The nearest airport is Bristol International and the closest train stations are Bridgwater and Castle Cary.

The most popular trips out from the house include Glastonbury and Wells, both close to the house, and Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Burnham on Sea, a longer but still short drive away. The North Somerset and Devon coasts are half an hour from the house, with some glorious sandy beaches and cliff-top walks. It takes around an hour to drive to Bath or Bristol. Guests can also visit the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton and go hill-walking on the Quantocks and Polden Hills.

I recently spent the weekend at Tudor Manor House for my 40th birthday. We were 22 people, all extremely comfortably accommodated in the 11 beautiful bedrooms - all unique and all with en-suite. The ground floor is perfect for large groups to be together, eat together in the incredible dining room or hang out in the cosier bar area. The professional standard kitchen is really well appointed with plenty of fridge, oven and hob space. I would struggle to find anything to criticise.

Our group of friends spent a weekend in October at Tudor Manor House. From the start Nichola met us at the House, showed us around the exquisitely decorated 11 bedrooms and rest of the house. The kitchen, which suited the extravagant plans to cook feasts for 22 people all weekend, was decked out with 22 of everything... plates, crockery, glasses, cutlery, everything you need for a murder mystery dinner for 22. The house had a huge amount of space for all of us to spread across different rooms, and have a party in the evening when the sun goes down, we were all astounded by how much space was there to explore, each room more beautiful than the other! We managed to squeeze in a long walk for a pub lunch at the Ashcott on Saturday, which everyone loved! The grounds surrounding the manor were phenomenal, spanning nature as far as the eye can see with a stunning pond outside the house. Our only regret was not staying longer to be able to explore the grounds more, but are very happy and grateful to have spent a glorious weekend in a beautiful house. Thank you!
