Such a lovely find, great location, very peaceful and a great outdoor space. Unique and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The kids loved being on the farm and opening and closing the gates to get to the cottage. The cottage itself was absolutely fine, serves what we needed as it was a summer vacation and we were out a lot. It is dated inside and needed £1 coins for the electric meter.

This cottage is wonderfully located for exploring the Hope valley, it is however very basic and reflects in it’s price but don’t let that put you off. The cottage looks beautiful and if you like wildlife we had many visitors in the garden including a hare, little owl, pheasant and could clearly hear curlew’s in the surrounding fields and a tawny owl in the evening. It is very idyllic and we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. The only down side as mentioned is it very basic and cooking some meals may be problematic. It could also do with some modernising but that maybe take away from it’s character. There is also no internet but this was not a problem for us as EE reception was very good. It was also advertised on the website as having bike storage but when we arrived and speaking to the owner this was a mistake. But we were able to improvise in keeping our two bikes safe. The Hope valley is a wonderful area and offers plenty for walkers and mountain bikers like myself found the week we had just was not enough. So definitely will be returning in the near future.
