Stoney Middleton is located within the Peak District, it is a great little village that has fascinating architecture and heritage, well known for its climbing and caves. There is one of the best chip shops around as well as The Cupola kitchen and bar and other local pubs. It is within easy reach of some of the Peak District’s most wonderful villages such as Eyam which oozes history surrounding the plague in the 1600s, Edale and Castleton known for their caves, walking routes, shops and the scenic road of Winnats Pass.
Centrally located between the towns of Buxton, Bakewell or Matlock where you can explore each town’s individualities, Buxton is known for its Crescent, Opera House and healing water fountain, Bakewell for its puddings or tarts and Matlock for the Matlock Bath parade down the river which gives you a ‘seaside feel’. Whether you wish to wander local towns, walk along the many trails or get stuck into some history at Chatsworth House, the most enjoyable holiday can be had.

Thoroughly recommend this accommodation for a stay in the Peak District. First class accommodation. Everything was spotless, bed was very comfortable, lovely hot shower. Ideal location for touring around the area and so close to Chatsworth.

We had a great stay at Rock Mill 24. The apartment is very comfortable and in excellent condition. The Rock Mill apartments are well serviced with boot, bike and dog washing areas and a great place to stay to explore the Peak District. There are great places to eat locally and local Spar shop, Whites of Calver has a great range with an in store butcher.

We were able to do one of the heritage walks. Best fish and chip shop ever just down the road and the heritage centre/restaurant next door is good. There are lots of nearby places of interest(even Chatsworth House is not far) but the weather kept us in a bit, picked the wrong week!.So with 5star accommodation and friendly hosts (including reception in the block) what more do you need?
