Around and About

Within the Peak District National Park and nestled at the foot of Kinder Scout is the pretty High Peak village of Edale. With two pubs - both of which serve food - a village post office and general store as well as a Moorland Visitors Centre, this charming little town provides a variety of local amenities. In addition there is also a railway station close by, offering easy access to larger towns in the area and throughout the country. As the start of the famous Pennine Way, Edale offers a huge variety of walking routes for people of all abilities. Not far from this charming village are the popular blue-John caves and the lovely town of Castleton. For more specialised shops and a wider variety of restaurants, the spa town of Buxton is well worth visiting and is within easy driving distance.

The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
