Suitable for families or groups looking for a rural retreat, this stone-built cottage has been beautifully appointed, offering self-catering amenities, an enclosed garden, and plenty of living space. Be welcomed by the striking tiles leading you to a contemporary kitchen with Farrow & Ball colours, granite work tops, and everything you need for rustling up home-cooked meals, including a gas cooker and dishwasher. Gather your loved ones in the spacious living/dining room with Scandinavian-style furnishings paired with an original fireplace and exposed beams; dine at the table for eight followed by a relaxing seat on the large, sumptuous corner sofa in front of the TV. If you'd prefer some peace and quiet, retreat to the snug with a good book or your choice on the TV! Summer evenings can be spent in your private garden with plenty of lawn space and outdoor seating to unwind with a cold beverage. After the day's adventures, find a washing machine in the cellar's utility, complete with freezer and extra fridge to store your drinks! Climb the stairs to freshen up in the bathroom with a bath and shower over or in the sleek shower room, both finished to a high standard. Getting around will be an easy task thanks to the local train station and bus services to Sheffield and Castleton, as well as a main road leading through Hope Valley, and easy access to The Pennine Way, a scenic walking route. Castleton is a must with plenty to see and do, including the ruins of Peveril Castle, guided tours of Peak Cavern, boat trips through the underground caves of Speedwell Cavern, and unforgettable hikes up Mam Tor. The Peak District is a walker's paradise with trails near Bamford Edge for valley views, exploring Wyming Brook Nature Reserve, and far-reaching views at the top of Back Tor. The Winnats Pass in Castleton is a delight for walkers, cyclists, and motorists alike. The pretty villages of Edale, Castleton and Hathersage, with their seasonal outdoor swimming pool, are all within 3 miles, as are the wonderful Castleton Caves. Visit Alton Towers or Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Buxton, Matlock Bath, and Carsington Water are all nearby, as are Ashbourne and Leek.

    It is ideally located for exploring the Peak District and in the village there are all amenities - pubs, cafes, restaurants, bus stops and a convenience store open every day until late. Highly recommend.

    Worked well for 6 adults and 2 children (incl. 1 infant in a travel cot). Clean and cosy. Great location and no problems parking on nearby roads.
