About this property

Proudly positioned in the high peak of the Derbyshire Dales, Beechwood House is a stunning stone cottage offering the ultimate setting for a large family or group getaway. Just a stone's throw away from the Peak District National Park, adventure can be found right on your doorstep with an abundance of activities and attractions waiting to be explored, with ground-floor living and stairlift access to the first floor allowing all to enjoy a wonderful break. Open up the striking wooden door and be welcomed into a grand hallway with beautiful Victorian tiling, a wonderful spot to leave your coats and boots before unwinding in the warm and welcoming sitting room as you watch movies on the Smart TV. Pop the kettle on in the quaint kitchen/diner, or rustle up a tasty treat in the fully-fitted kitchen, just a few steps away. Gather with loved ones in the living/dining room as you enjoy a delicious home cooked meal at the attractive table, before snuggling up on the plush sofas and discussing all of the exciting expeditions that lie ahead. Head outside to one of the two well-kept gardens and delight in dinner alfresco at the outdoor seating area whilst the dogs play happily on the lawn. Wander across to the external utility room, a great place to leave your muddy boots to dry as you catch up on the laundry, before heading indoors to the ground-floor wet room for a rejuvenating rinse. Completing the ground floor is a games room ideal for those travelling with children, as well as a second utility room and a spacious ground-floor double bedroom with en-suite wet room, perfectly suited to those travelling with limited mobility. Up on the first floor, which you can also access using the stairlift, six further bedrooms await you; three darling doubles, a peaceful twin and a quaint single, together providing space for up to thirteen guests. The bedrooms are served by a bathroom right across the way, as well as two well-designed cloakrooms each with a basin and WC. When you can just about tear yourself away from this spectacular abode, be sure to explore the countryside with a scenic hike through Hobson Moor Quarry or travel to the top of Wildbank Triangulation point, each boasting incredible views across the encompassing landscapes. Visit the remains of B29 OVEREXPOSED Crash Site, or spend the day in the town of Ashton-under-Lyme and discover the Portland Basin Museum, the Ruined Chapel and the pretty Victoria Bridge, before wandering the wonderful woodlands of Daisy Nook Country Park. See Ardotalia and Melandra Roman Fort or Arrowscroft House, or travel further into the Peak District National Park to see Treak Cliff and Speedwell Cavern. Visit the city of Manchester for a fun-filled day spent shopping and wining and dining, before touring the Science and Industry Museum, the People's History Museum and Mamucium Roman Fort Reconstruction. Head up to Oldham to Lancaster Park & Animal Farm, or spend the day at Gulliver's Valley, a real hit with those traveling with children, or dust off your bikes and cycle the incredible Trans Pennine Trail. Make the most of precious time with loved ones on a retreat to Beechwood House.
