The 18th-century property has been carefully restored to retain many of the characterful original features, such as the wonderful oak beams and exposed stonework. The barn has been converted using innovative environmental design, including British sheep’s wool insulation and a carbon-neutral wood pellet stove to heat the property’s water. The spacious lounge/diner has a beautiful slate floor and underfloor heating, to create a cosy space to relax in after a day of exploring. Outside is a gorgeous terrace with magnificent views, as well as a kitchen garden where you can pick your own organic produce.

Once you reach the 370-metre summit, you’ll be rewarded with fabulous views over Combs Reservoir and Shining Tor. Combs Reservoir is another great spot for peaceful walking, as well as sailing. The shoreline footpath is 2 miles long and takes you through the village of Combs, where you can stop off for a delicious pub lunch. The glorious house at Lyme also makes a lovely day out. There are some truly magical walks through the 1,400-acre estate, passing through formal gardens, moorland, and a deer park.
