About this property

A charming end-terrace cottage set in the lovely market town of Wirksworth. Refurbished by a local sculptor and designer Dale M Shields, this quirky designed property is a unique blend of contemporary and cool upcycled furniture and fixtures creating a lovely holiday accommodation for couples or small families. Set over three floors, this cottage offers two beautifully decorated bedrooms with unique styled beds with natural cotton mattresses and painted wooden floors. The second floor bedroom features a modern designed en-suite including a luxury roll-top bath. On the first floor you will find another bedroom offering flexible sleeping arrangements with a separate shower room with a large shower. The open plan living area on the ground floor is very sociable, with its well-equipped, beautifully designed kitchen with quarry tile flooring. The dining area opens into a comfortable sitting area with a stylish leather sofa and woodburning stove with stone surround, all adding plenty of charm and character to this unique cottage. Outside, you will find a sheltered courtyard with handy secure bike storage. Wirksworth is a charming and busy little town and is one of the oldest in this part of the Peak District. Here you can find an award-winning restaurant, fine real ale pubs, individual shops and a bustling monthly market. There are plenty of scenic walks and cycling trails from the doorstep and Carsington Water is well worth a visit with its numerous activities, including watersports. The beautiful, historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are nearby as well as the popular towns of Matlock Bath and Ashbourne, making this delightful cottage an ideal base and perfect holiday location to enjoy all year round.

Wirksworth is a small, charming market town situated just a few miles from Matlock, on the edge of the White Peak.
